The 7×7 Guide to Coffee and Cocktail locations near LendIT

Blog

March 22, 2019 | Jonathan Pryer

If you’re heading to LendIT in San Francisco this year you’re going to need to remember two things:

  1. Pack layers, the temperature drops quicker than the insane hills in the city
  2. Save this list of the best coffee and cocktail locations within walking distance of the conference and hotels

Covering your refreshment needs from breakfast to bedtime

I don’t think anyone will disagree when I say that conferences, while a lot of fun, are exhausting. With so many sessions to listen to, meetings to attend, and networking opportunities to explore, you need to be on the top of your game as soon as the sun comes up. This calls for some serious support from the supporting star of the event: coffee. Scrap that. GREAT coffee.

As any conference veteran will know, finding a great coffee location within walking distance of the event is the first thing any attendee should do! So, I thought I’d save you some time by pulling together a list of coffee recommendations.

Don’t worry! I’ve also got your evening plans covered with this list of fantastic cocktail locations in the vicinity of the conference hotels. So, if you need to wind down after a long day of networking, relax/celebrate with colleagues after a successful day, or even squeeze in one more meeting you’ll know where to go.

The 7×7 list of coffee and cocktails

In honor of San Francisco’s petite size—yes it’s only 7×7 miles but don’t be fooled, what it lacks in size it makes up for in personality—I’ve chosen seven coffee places and seven cocktail bars that are guaranteed to make you happy.

I’ll be attending LendIT this year and would love to meet my fellow attendees! If you’d like to schedule a coffee or a cocktail please choose a slot in my diary.

Coffee Locations

  1. Coffee Cultures

1301 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94103

Coffee Cultures newest location south of Market is a 20 min walk from the Moscone Center, making it a perfect option if you want to stretch your legs. Coffee Cultures is open from 7 am to 6 pm and serves a range of coffee options including both espresso drinks and pour overs. They also serve food, with the menu covering everything from fresh pastries and bagels to sandwiches and salads.

  1. Equator Coffee and Teas

Equator Coffee and Teas is a lively coffee shop that’s about a 15-minute walk from the Moscone Center but close to the convention hotels! Open from 6.30 am to 6 pm for drinks and food. They serve a huge range of coffees including espressos, pour overs, batch brews, cold brews, and single origin options. They also have a much smaller location 5-minutes from the Moscone Center at 222 2nd Street, perfect for a grab and go option.

  1. Sightglass coffee

270 7th Street, San Francisco, CA 94103

Sightglass Coffee’s flagship location is conveniently located 15-minutes from the Moscone Center. This spacious coffee shop offers lots of seating and serves a wide selection of coffees including cold brews, pour overs, and espressos. Open from 7 am to 7 pm.

  1. Blue Bottle Coffee

66 Mint Plaza, San Francisco, CA 94103

Blue Bottle has many locations around the conference area, including two in the ferry building and one on 2nd Street, but this one is the most intriguing! This Philz location is 15 minutes from the convention, there’s also another location on Market but the Folsom and Beale location helps you avoid the Market Street crowd! Philz is known for its huge range of pour overs, so you won’t find any espresso drinks. You’ll also find a selection of snacks such as bagels, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. Open 5.30am to 7 pm.

  1. Mazarine Coffee

720 Market Street, San Francisco, CA, 94102

Inspired by the Bibliothèque Mazarine in France, the Mazarine Coffee shop carefully curates coffee from a selection of the highest quality roasters. Their rotating menu includes pour-overs, espressos, and nitro cold brews. Drop in for pastries at breakfast and sandwiches and salads at lunch. This WIFI enabled and laptop friendly location is open from 7 am to 6 pm.

  1. Red Door Coffee

111 Minna St, San Francisco, CA 94105

Coffee shop meets art gallery at this quirky coffee destination 5 minutes from the convention center. Fancy trying two cocktail bars without changing locations? Ayala is also located inside Hotel G on Geary! However, it also boasts an incredible cocktail menu from James Beard Award nominee Julian Cox. These nautical inspired cocktails offer something for everyone, especially if you’re a lover of martinis. Opens at 4 pm for cocktails.

  1. Zombie Village

441 Jones St, San Francisco, CA 94102

Just a few blocks west of Union Square is the fun and friendly Zombie Village, a tiki style bar thoroughly decorated to give you an immersive zombie tiki experience. Reserve your very own thatched roof booth then head on over for zombie rum drinks and large sharing bowls made with only fresh ingredients. Open 5 pm to 2 am.

  1. Charmaine’s

Located at the top of the Proper Hotel, San Francisco, Charmaine’s offers a stylish yet relaxed setting to get an evening drink. Choose from 12 cocktails and relax looking out from 120ft above the city streets! Charmaine’s also offers a selection of food, wine, and beers. Opens at 3 pm.

  1. The Cordial

Opens at 3 pm.

  1. Rickhouse

246 Kearny St, San Francisco, CA 94108

Located 10 minutes from Union Square, the Rickhouse is an easy walk from any of the convention hotels. This whiskey focused bar is super popular, especially at the end of the workday. They boast a huge selection of spirits, so large in fact that they need a rolling ladder to reach them all. The brick-walled, cozy space offers incredible cocktails in a funky location. Opens at 5 pm on Mondays, at 3 pm on Tuesdays.

I’ll be attending LendIT and would love to introduce myself! If you’d like to schedule a coffee or a cocktail please feel free to add it to my diary.
